5. The Disturbance Brought In by the King
and the Way of the Cross to Follow Him
10:34-39

34 ^aDo not think that I have come to bring peace on the earth; I have not ¹come to bring peace, but a sword.

35 For I have come to set men at variance: a man against his ^afather, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;

36 And a man's ^aenemies will be those of his ¹household.

37 He who loves ^afather or mother ¹above Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter above Me is not worthy of Me;

38 And he who does not ¹take his ^across and ^bfollow after Me is not worthy of Me.

39 He who ¹finds his ^asoul-life shall ¹lose it, and he who loses his soul-life for My sake shall find it.
