6:1-4

1 ^1aChildren, obey your parents ^2bin the Lord, for this is ³right.

2 ^1a"Honor your father and mother,'' which is the ²first commandment with a promise,

3 ^a"That it may be ¹well with you and that you may ¹live long on the earth.''

4 And fathers, do not ¹provoke your children to anger, but ^anurture them in the discipline and ²admonition of the Lord.
